Brasão de Ilhéus (Brazil) Shot Glass Design

This shot glass showcases the intricate design of the Brasão de Ilhéus, the official coat of arms of the Brazilian municipality of Ilhéus.

Visual Elements and Symbolism

The design is dominated by the heraldic shield, divided vertically. The left side features a vibrant red background ("gules") adorned with five green fig-leaves arranged in an "X" shape (saltire), each leaf subtly outlined in gold. These fig leaves pay homage to the "Figueiredo" family name, derived from "figueira" (fig tree), signifying a connection to the region's heritage.

The right side of the shield also presents a red background, but it's embellished with a gold "fretwork," an interlaced pattern composed of three gold bands. This design element, a key part of the Correia family's arms, links the coat of arms to the noble lineage of Jorge de Figueiredo Correia, the first feudal grant holder ("donatário") of the Ilhéus territory.

Above the shield, a silver mural crown with four visible towers symbolizes the municipal government's authority. On either side of the shield, serving as "supporters," are a sugarcane stalk and a cacao branch bearing fruit. These represent the historical significance of agriculture in Ilhéus, highlighting sugarcane as an early crop and cacao as the crop that brought economic prosperity to the region.

Below the shield, a red scroll bearing the gold inscription "Município de Ilhéus" serves as the motto, reinforcing the identity of the municipality.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
