Brasil estado 101 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

A pared-back route shield: the number 101 in black figures, set inside a pentagonal outline with an inner border.

Visual Elements & Composition

Two colours do all the work, black on a white field that covers close to nine-tenths of the design. The pentagon is drawn with an inner border that echoes its outer edge, and the numerals 101 sit centred within it. Nothing else intrudes, so the number reads first and the frame second.

Meaning & Symbolism

A pentagonal route shield is the kind of marker used to name a numbered highway through a Brazilian state, and the design reads as a tribute to that wayfinding system. Route 101 is a designation rather than a picture, so the artwork honours the idea of a road that connects places. Its flat, modern treatment keeps attention on the number itself.

Carried in the Hand

A mug is turned in the hand and lifted to the mouth, so the shield passes across the eye at every angle. The inner border keeps the pentagon legible as the cup rotates, and the bold numerals stay sharp on the curve of the ceramic.
