British Weihaiwei flag (China) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces the blue ensign used for the British leased territory of Weihaiwei on the Shandong coast, with the Union Jack in the corner and a roundel of Mandarin ducks on the fly.

Visual Elements & Composition

Deep navy covers most of the field, the standard colour of a British blue ensign. The Union Jack fills the upper canton, set against the blue, and a white-edged roundel sits on the fly side. Inside the roundel, two waterbirds stand among green reeds and sky-blue water, one pale and one speckled brown. Crimson and white in the Union Jack give the flag its sharp accents, and the layout is clean and flat.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Union Jack asserts British sovereignty over the territory, which was leased from China and administered by Britain from 1898 until 1930. The roundel's Mandarin ducks replaced an earlier Chinese imperial dragon badge, and the choice of local wildlife reflected an effort to set the territory apart from the Qing Empire while keeping a distinctly British identity. The flag records a short, unusual chapter of early twentieth-century East Asian history.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the roundel and the Union Jack come into view together as the glass is picked up. The deep navy field suits a small clear vessel, and the ducks are large enough at this scale to be read as birds rather than as a pattern.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
