Bundschuhfahne brown-on-white version (Germany) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A single brown tied shoe rises from a clean white field, drawn in flat, confident strokes that leave nothing to decorate the edges.

Visual Elements & Composition

The brown boot dominates the centre of the design, with a winding brown ribbon curling around its upper and a triangular pennant set beside it. The palette is restrained: cream and white carry the background, while tan and a deep chocolate brown give the shoe and ribbon their weight. Nothing else competes for attention, so the eye lands straight on the icon.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Bundschuh is a peasant's shoe laced up with cords, set against the high-topped boots worn by the nobility. It was the emblem of the Bundschuh movement, a run of local rebellions in Southwestern Germany between 1493 and 1517, including the Black Forest and Alsace. Its message was social: a call for the common people to resist feudal oppression, heavy taxation and ecclesiastical privilege, and to stand together as a peasantry. These uprisings led directly toward the German Peasants' War of 1524 to 1525.

Made for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so this flag reads at arm's length, where the brown shoe sits right in front of the drinker. The pennant and ribbon wrap around the narrow body of the glass, turning a historical emblem into something you can lift, share and talk about over the bar.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
