Burgee of Societa Triestina della Vela (Italy) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces the burgee of the Società Triestina della Vela, a sailing club from Trieste, as a blue field carrying a white cross and a single white star.

Visual Elements & Composition

Blue fills most of the pennant, with white providing the cross and the star. The cross of St. George runs through the centre of the field, and a white five-pointed star sits in the canton, the upper corner nearest the mast. The palette is restricted to blue and white, which keeps the layout clean and gives the cross and star strong contrast.

Meaning & Symbolism

The cross of St. George and the star combine to make the emblem a clear statement of Trieste's maritime identity. The design was created in 1923 for the club's founding as Filonautica Triestina, by the designer Mario Lucas, and it was carried into the club's later name, Società Triestina della Vela, when the organisation was renamed in 1931. It is a 1920s emblem that has stayed with the club through its change of name.

Held Close on the Glass

A shot glass is small and lifted close, so the cross and star come into view at the moment the glass is raised. The rounded wall of the glass carries the blue field well, and the white cross and star read clearly through the clear walls.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
