Burmese buddhist flag (Myanmar) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This shot glass reproduces the International Buddhist Flag, six vertical stripes of blue, yellow, red, white, orange and a combined band that together echo the light said to have surrounded the Buddha at his enlightenment.

Visual Elements & Composition

Six vertical stripes run edge to edge with no border or emblem to interrupt them. Blue, yellow, red, white and orange each take their own stripe, and a sixth stripe combines all of them. The flat vector style keeps each band crisp and evenly weighted, so the eye moves across the colours in sequence rather than settling on one focal point.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each stripe represents a quality of the Buddha's teaching: blue for universal compassion, yellow for the middle way, red for the blessings of practice, white for the purity of Dhamma and orange for wisdom. The combined stripe stands for the essence of light and the truth of the teachings. Colonel Henry Steel Olcott designed the flag in Sri Lanka in 1885, it reached Myanmar in 1889, and it was adopted as the International Buddhist Flag in 1950.

Carrying the Flag onto the Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the stripes sit just a few centimetres from the eye as the glass is raised. Their vertical rhythm wraps naturally around the curve of the glass, which suits a design built on repetition and balance.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
