Californian Lone Star Flag 1836 (Mexico) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This flag is built from almost nothing: a single crimson five-pointed star centred on a stark white field.

Visual Elements & Composition

White covers nearly the whole surface, leaving the crimson star as the only mark. The star sits at the centre, and its sharp points stand out against the plain background. There is no border, text or ornament, so the flat vector shape carries the entire design, and the stark contrast between the two colours is what the eye takes in first.

Meaning & Symbolism

This is the Californian Lone Star flag of 1836, adopted during a revolt led by Juan Bautista Alvarado and Isaac Graham against the Mexican governor appointed in Monterey. The star was chosen to express solidarity with the Texan Revolution that was happening at the same time. The flag is a notable precursor to the later Bear Flag of 1846, and it marks a moment of political change in Alta California, then a province of Mexico.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the single star sits right at eye level as the glass is lifted. The 1.5oz size makes the star a compact, focused emblem, and the white field reads clearly on the glass's surface. Whether it is raised at a gathering or set on a home bar, the glass carries one of the earliest flags to come out of Alta California.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
