Canadian Red Ensign Crown 1871 (Canada) Shot Glass 1.5oz

St Edward's crown crowns a heraldic shield on this red flag, a flat-vector take on the Red Ensign with a crown motif tied to 1871.

Visual Elements & Composition

Bold red takes up most of the flag, and the crown at the top of the shield is the first thing the eye lands on. Below it, the shield is packed with a lion, a fish, a ship, a bull and sprigs of maple, all set in navy, white and gold. The Union Jack holds the upper canton, and a small banner along the shield carries the letters B.C. and the motto SPLENDOR SINE OCCASV. The layout is symmetrical and formal, with the shield doing the heavy lifting.

Meaning & Symbolism

The B.C. lettering and the motto SPLENDOR SINE OCCASV, meaning splendour without diminishment, belong to the arms of British Columbia, which joined Confederation in 1871. That year gives the design its date, and the crown ties the emblem to the Crown and its authority over the colony. The lion, the ship and the maple speak to the province's ties to Britain, its seafaring life and its place in the Dominion.

Crowned at the Rim

A shot glass is small and held close, so the crown and the shield below it come into view at the rim as the glass is lifted. The 1.5oz size keeps the whole crest in one glance, turning each pour into a short look at the year British Columbia became part of Canada.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
