Cavalry Standard of the Hungarian Peoples Army 1950-1957 with staff (Hungary) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A red standard on a ceremonial flagstaff carries the socialist coat of arms of Hungary, finished with a serrated edge, gold trim and a spearhead top.

Visual Elements & Composition

Red fills most of the field and gives the standard its strong character. The coat of arms sits in the centre, with a hammer and wheat sheaf and a red star rising above it, all picked out in gold, with forest green and white in the surrounding detail. A brown flagstaff runs up the side and ends in a spearhead finial, and tassels hang from the top. The square field is bordered by a serrated edge, so the shape reads clearly at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

This is the cavalry and motorised rifle standard of the Hungarian Peoples Army, the Magyar Néphadsereg, in use from 19 September 1950 to 11 October 1957. The coat of arms it carries is the Rákosi version used between 1949 and 1956, with the red star and wheat ears standing for the alliance of workers and peasants. The design is a record of the state symbols that the armed forces carried in those years.

Carried in the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the flagstaff and spearhead become a single upright line that runs along the glass. The coat of arms and red star sit at eye level, where the red and gold stand out most clearly.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
