The U.S. Coast Guard's Seventh District is one of nine districts that make up the service's geographical area of responsibility. It also includes navigable waterways like the St. Lawrence Seaway, Great Lakes, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, and the Upper Mississippi River System. The district's mission encompasses a wide range of activities including search and rescue, law enforcement, maritime security, marine environmental protection, and aids to navigation. It collaborates closely with local, state, federal, and international agencies to ensure safety, security, and environmental stewardship in the districts' waters.
