Coat of arms of Colonia Department - Frosted Pint Glass 16oz

This is the official coat of arms of Colonia Department in Uruguay, a flat vector emblem built from a blue, red and white shield with gold accents, set on a frosted glass pint.

Visual Elements & Composition

The shield is divided into three clear zones. Blue fills the upper chief and takes up the largest share of the design, holding five white five-pointed stars arranged as the Southern Cross. The lower left field is red, with four ears of wheat rising in a three-headed stalk in gold. The lower right field is white and carries a honeybee shown head-up. Horizontal and vertical divisions give the shield a crisp, ordered layout with no decorative clutter.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Southern Cross places the department under the Southern Hemisphere sky, and its blue stands for temperance, perseverance, loyalty and agriculture. The wheat recalls the farming base of the region and the four directions of the early settlers and immigrants, while red signals service, defence of sovereignty, strength and independence. The gold denotes prosperity and nobility, and the bee completes the picture of a working rural land. The emblem was adopted on 10 January 1978 after a public design competition, and it serves as the central symbol on the departmental flag.

Made for the Frosted Glass Pint

A pint glass wraps the artwork around a tall, curved surface, so the shield reads as one continuous image as the glass is lifted and turned. The matte frost lets the colours sit softly against the light, which suits an emblem meant to be seen up close and held in the hand.

Frosted pint glass (16 oz / ≈0.47 L) with a soft matte finish and semi-translucent, one-sided print. Tough enough for bar and restaurant use, dishwasher safe, and BPA-free — a modern take on classic pintware.

These pints are mouth-blown-style glass finished with a satin frost that mutes glare and gives art a soft, tactile presence. The print sits atop the frosted surface to create a semi-see-through effect — the look subtly shifts depending on lighting and what's poured inside.

Because the print is slightly translucent, pale drinks let more light through and darker pours create stronger contrast. That interplay gives each serving a small visual surprise — useful in hospitality settings or retail displays where the drink and the glass play off each other.

  • Material: 100% glass with a matte, frosted finish for a low-reflective, premium feel.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint, ≈0.47 L).
  • Print: one-sided wraparound, semi-translucent finish that changes with light and liquid.
  • Care: dishwasher-safe for everyday service (see Care tab for tips).
  • Use cases: retail shelves, bar service, event glassware, or merch racks — suitable for single units or larger orders.

These glasses work well for chilled beers, craft pours, iced cocktails and cold brew — anywhere you want an elegant, understated presentation. The frosted surface hides minor fingerprints and softens the silhouette of the drink inside.

  1. Serve: fill with cold beverages; the semi-translucent print will interact with the drink color for subtle variation.
  2. Display: stack or line them on back bar shelving where soft lighting emphasizes the frosted texture.
  3. Stocking: sell individually or as a set; their neutral look fits many menu styles and venue aesthetics.

Tip: if you plan themed pours (pale ales, lagers, dark stouts), test a sample to see how each drink’s hue changes the printed artwork’s visibility.

Dishwasher-safe for routine cleaning — use a standard household cycle and avoid very high-heat commercial programs when possible. Placing glasses mouth-down on the rack reduces risk of chipping during wash cycles.

For best longevity, hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh chemical cleaners that can dull the frosted finish or wear printed areas over time.
