Coat of arms of Costa Rica (1906-1964) - Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the national coat of arms of Costa Rica as it was used between 1906 and 1964, a flat vector emblem built around a central shield and a sailing ship.

Visual Elements & Composition

The central shield holds three volcanoes rising above an extensive valley, with a rising sun above them. Two sailing ships cross the sea on either side of the shield, one of them three-masted and the other smaller and set further off. Laurel branches frame the shield, and a scroll banner carries the inscription AMERICA CENTRAL and REPUBLICA DE COSTA RICA. Ocean blue and sky blue give the sea its colour, while gold, forest green and white define the land, the sun and the frame.

Meaning & Symbolism

The three volcanoes and the valley stand for the mountainous terrain and fertile farmland that shaped the country. The ships speak to its maritime trade and its position between the Pacific and the Caribbean. The rising sun signals hope and prosperity, and the laurel branches stand for peace. The emblem descends from the original 1848 arms, and its long use on state documents and public buildings made it a standard image of national unity in the twentieth century.

Held in the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the volcanoes and the ships become a scene to read at arm's length, with the sea running along the curve of the glass.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
