Coat of arms of Costa Rica (1964-1998) - Frosted Pint Glass 16oz

A flat vector national emblem in which a three-masted ship sails past green volcanic mountains beneath a rising sun, set in an ornate cartouche.

Visual Elements & Composition

The shield is framed by an ornate cartouche and sits on a field of blue sea. A three-masted ship dominates the water, and green volcanic mountains rise on the land above it. A gold sun rises between the peaks, and seven white stars fill the upper part of the shield. Gold laurel and crossed sceptres sit above the shield, and a ribbon scroll at the base carries the lettering AMERICA CENTRAL and REPUBLICA DE COSTA RICA. The layering of blue, green and gold gives the emblem a rich, formal balance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The volcanic mountains and the valley between them stand for the country's terrain and fertile land, and the sea and ship for its maritime trade across two oceans. The seven stars represent the provinces of the nation, and the rising sun promises prosperity and a bright future. The laurel marks honour, and the palm framing of the wider arms, a sign of peace, reflects the national character. The arms were adopted in 1848 and modified in 1998 to standardise their elements, and this version was the one in use across much of the twentieth century.

Carried on the Frosted Pint

A pint glass presents its print on a tall, curved surface, so the ship, mountains and sun stay together as the glass is lifted and turned. The frosted finish takes the edge off the strong gold and blue, which suits an emblem designed to be admired slowly.

Frosted pint glass (16 oz / ≈0.47 L) with a soft matte finish and semi-translucent, one-sided print. Tough enough for bar and restaurant use, dishwasher safe, and BPA-free — a modern take on classic pintware.

These pints are mouth-blown-style glass finished with a satin frost that mutes glare and gives art a soft, tactile presence. The print sits atop the frosted surface to create a semi-see-through effect — the look subtly shifts depending on lighting and what's poured inside.

Because the print is slightly translucent, pale drinks let more light through and darker pours create stronger contrast. That interplay gives each serving a small visual surprise — useful in hospitality settings or retail displays where the drink and the glass play off each other.

  • Material: 100% glass with a matte, frosted finish for a low-reflective, premium feel.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint, ≈0.47 L).
  • Print: one-sided wraparound, semi-translucent finish that changes with light and liquid.
  • Care: dishwasher-safe for everyday service (see Care tab for tips).
  • Use cases: retail shelves, bar service, event glassware, or merch racks — suitable for single units or larger orders.

These glasses work well for chilled beers, craft pours, iced cocktails and cold brew — anywhere you want an elegant, understated presentation. The frosted surface hides minor fingerprints and softens the silhouette of the drink inside.

  1. Serve: fill with cold beverages; the semi-translucent print will interact with the drink color for subtle variation.
  2. Display: stack or line them on back bar shelving where soft lighting emphasizes the frosted texture.
  3. Stocking: sell individually or as a set; their neutral look fits many menu styles and venue aesthetics.

Tip: if you plan themed pours (pale ales, lagers, dark stouts), test a sample to see how each drink’s hue changes the printed artwork’s visibility.

Dishwasher-safe for routine cleaning — use a standard household cycle and avoid very high-heat commercial programs when possible. Placing glasses mouth-down on the rack reduces risk of chipping during wash cycles.

For best longevity, hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh chemical cleaners that can dull the frosted finish or wear printed areas over time.
