Coat of Arms Shot Glass: Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, Order of the Elephant

This shot glass showcases the intricate and regal design of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg's coat of arms, specifically incorporating the insignia of the Danish Order of the Elephant. The design is a powerful display of heraldic artistry, representing both Luxembourgish heritage and the prestigious knighthood.

The Shield

The core of the design is the shield, meticulously quartered. The first and fourth quarters display the arms of Luxembourg: ten horizontal stripes of alternating silver (argent) and blue (azure), with a red lion (gules) rampant, its tail forked (queue fourchée en sautoir) and its claws, crown, and tongue in gold (or). The second and third quarters bear the arms of the House of Nassau, showing a blue field (azure) scattered with gold billets (small rectangular shapes), with a gold lion (or) armed and with tongue in red (gules).

The Inescutcheon and Supporters

Over all these, in the center, is an inescutcheon featuring the arms of the House of Bourbon-Parma: a blue (azure) field with three gold fleurs-de-lis, surrounded by a red (gules) border charged with eight silver escallops (scallop shells). Supporting the shield are two golden lions (or), facing the viewer (reguardant) with their tails forked (queue fourchée en sautoir), crowned in gold, and their claws and tongues in red (gules).

Insignia of the Order of the Elephant

Crucially, the design incorporates elements of the Order of the Elephant, signifying Grand Duke Henri's knighthood. This includes the gold chain, often a prominent visual element, which is represented on the shield or surrounding the shield. The chain consists of alternating links shaped like elephants and towers. Also included is the iconic Badge of the Order: a white-enamelled gold elephant bearing a pink enamelled tower on its back, encircled by diamonds, with a colorfully attired Moorish mahout atop. The star is also often incorporated into the design, an eight-pointed silver star with a red enameled disc at its center, featuring a white cross and a laurel wreath.

The Crown and Overall Meaning

The entire composition is crowned with the Grand Ducal crown of Luxembourg, reinforcing the sovereign status. The design's overall message is one of dynastic continuity, combining Luxembourg’s national identity with links to noble houses and honors like the Order of the Elephant.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
