Coat of arms of Natal 1907-1997 - Shot Glass 1.5oz

Two running black wildebeest cross a blue shield in front of mountains, the central figures of the arms granted to the Colony of Natal in 1907.

Visual Elements & Composition

A heater shield in sky blue fills the centre of the emblem, and the sand tan ground beneath it provides a warm, open backdrop. The two wildebeest are shown in full stride, their dark forms set against the lower part of the shield, with mountains rising behind them. A royal crown sits atop the shield, and a scroll banner carries the word NATAL below. Slate grey, crimson and gold appear as accents in the crown, the banner and the edges of the shield.

Meaning & Symbolism

King Edward VII granted the arms by Royal Warrant on 16 May 1907, and G. Ambrose Lee of the College of Arms in London designed them. The wildebeest stand for the animal life and natural landscape of the region, and the mountains for its terrain. The crown marks the emblem as a royal grant, and the banner names the territory. The arms served the colony and later the province until the reforms of the late 1990s retired the old provincial structures.

In Hand, Up Close

A shot glass is small and held close, so the wildebeest and the blue shield sit directly in front of the drinker as the glass is lifted. The mountain line runs along the glass at eye level, and the crown reads clearly from above. Clear glass lets the sky blue of the shield come through, giving the emblem a clean and steady presence at close range.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
