Coat of Arms of Scotland (1603-1649) - Frosted Pint Glass 16oz

This design presents the Scottish royal arms as they were displayed between 1603 and 1649, a flat vector achievement built around a shield, a pair of supporters and a crown.

Visual Elements & Composition

The shield is quartered and forms the centre of the image. A white unicorn wearing a gold chain stands on one side and a gold lion rampant on the other, both holding the shield up. Crossed flagpoles carry the Scottish saltire and the English St George cross behind the arms. A red lion statant sits on the gold crown above the shield, and a knight's helm with its crest completes the top of the composition. Thistles fill the lower edge, and a ribbon scroll carries the visible lettering IN DEFENS. The dominant tones are white and gold, with red, green and blue used for the quartered fields and the thistles.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each figure in this achievement carries a specific claim. The lion rampant is the principal emblem of Scotland, the unicorn stands for the royal supporter that the Scottish crown adopted, and the thistle is the national plant. The two flags show the shared crown of the period, set side by side after the accession of James VI to the English throne in 1603. The arms in this form were used through the early seventeenth century, which places the design in a particular stretch of Scottish royal history.

Set on a Frosted Pint

A pint glass has a tall, curved body, so the achievement wraps around it as a single band of image rather than a small badge. The frosted matte surface softens the edges of the gold and white, and the shield and unicorn sit at the height of the hand when the glass is lifted.

Frosted pint glass (16 oz / ≈0.47 L) with a soft matte finish and semi-translucent, one-sided print. Tough enough for bar and restaurant use, dishwasher safe, and BPA-free — a modern take on classic pintware.

These pints are mouth-blown-style glass finished with a satin frost that mutes glare and gives art a soft, tactile presence. The print sits atop the frosted surface to create a semi-see-through effect — the look subtly shifts depending on lighting and what's poured inside.

Because the print is slightly translucent, pale drinks let more light through and darker pours create stronger contrast. That interplay gives each serving a small visual surprise — useful in hospitality settings or retail displays where the drink and the glass play off each other.

  • Material: 100% glass with a matte, frosted finish for a low-reflective, premium feel.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint, ≈0.47 L).
  • Print: one-sided wraparound, semi-translucent finish that changes with light and liquid.
  • Care: dishwasher-safe for everyday service (see Care tab for tips).
  • Use cases: retail shelves, bar service, event glassware, or merch racks — suitable for single units or larger orders.

These glasses work well for chilled beers, craft pours, iced cocktails and cold brew — anywhere you want an elegant, understated presentation. The frosted surface hides minor fingerprints and softens the silhouette of the drink inside.

  1. Serve: fill with cold beverages; the semi-translucent print will interact with the drink color for subtle variation.
  2. Display: stack or line them on back bar shelving where soft lighting emphasizes the frosted texture.
  3. Stocking: sell individually or as a set; their neutral look fits many menu styles and venue aesthetics.

Tip: if you plan themed pours (pale ales, lagers, dark stouts), test a sample to see how each drink’s hue changes the printed artwork’s visibility.

Dishwasher-safe for routine cleaning — use a standard household cycle and avoid very high-heat commercial programs when possible. Placing glasses mouth-down on the rack reduces risk of chipping during wash cycles.

For best longevity, hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh chemical cleaners that can dull the frosted finish or wear printed areas over time.
