Commander Submarine Group Two (CSG-2) is a component of the U.S. Navy's submarine force, headquartered at Naval Base Kings Bay, Georgia. It falls under the operational control of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet and is responsible for overseeing the fleet ballistic missile (FBM) and guided-missile submarines assigned to the group. The vessels under its command are primarily Ohio-class FBM submarines, although it may also include Virginia-class guided-missile submarines. CSG-2's mission includes strategic deterrence, providing a nuclear deterrent for the United States, as well as supporting joint and fleet operations as required.
