Divisionskommandeur 1925 (Germany) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design takes its name from a military post, the Divisionskommandeur or division commander, and dates it to 1925, a year when Germany's officer corps was rebuilding its ranks under the Reichswehr.

Visual Elements & Composition

Saturated orange fills almost the whole field, with black and a small touch of red providing the only contrast. The layout is flat and vector-clean, built from a central heraldic eagle set against triangular and pennant-shaped forms that suggest a flag hoisted at a headquarters. Nothing is decorative for its own sake. The eagle sits at the centre, the pennant shapes frame it, and the small numeral "2.D." reads as a unit marking, the kind of abbreviation a staff officer would stamp on a document.

Meaning & Symbolism

The eagle is the Reichsadler, the national emblem Germany used throughout the Weimar years, and its presence ties the design to the state rather than to any single unit. A division commander led a major formation of troops, so the title places the artwork within the chain of command that organised the army. The pennant and flag motifs belong to vexillology, the study of flags, and they signal identity and allegiance in the way regimental colours always have. Together the elements reflect the formal, disciplined visual language of mid-1920s German institutions.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small, held in the fingers and lifted close to the eye, so the emblem and numerals meet the viewer at near range rather than across a room. The bold orange and black read clearly when the glass is raised at a table, and the eagle sits where it can be seen first. It makes a pointed conversation piece for anyone who collects military history or enjoys a well-chosen toast.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
