Drapeau de la prise de la Smalah 16 mai 1843 (Algeria) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design is a flat, two-band flag, red over green, drawn as a clean vector tricolour-style stripe with nothing else on its surface.

Visual Elements & Composition

Red dominates the design, filling roughly two-thirds of the field, while green takes up the remaining third. The two colours sit in plain horizontal bands inside a rectangle, with no emblem, border or lettering to interrupt them. That restraint is the point: the stripes read at a glance, and the eye settles on the hard edge where one colour meets the other.

Meaning & Symbolism

The flag commemorates the capture of the Smalah, the mobile capital and encampment of Emir Abd el-Kader, on 16 May 1843 near Taguin. The Duke of Aumale led a surprise cavalry raid that scattered the camp, which housed soldiers, officials and families. Banners taken in such engagements were prized as military trophies, and this one marks the dismantling of a nomadic state during the French conquest of Algeria. The Emir himself escaped, a detail that gives the story its complicated edge. The flag belongs to the years between 1830 and 1847, when the struggle for Algerian sovereignty shaped the era.

On the Shot Glass

A shot is a small, close-held thing, lifted and considered in one hand before it is set down. The bold red and green bands catch the eye at that short range, so the stripes become the first thing you see and the history comes after. It is a fitting way to carry a piece of 19th-century military history onto a shelf, a bar cart or a table of conversation.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
