Earl of Chichester COA (England) Shot Glass - Design

This shot glass showcases the distinguished Coat of Arms of the Earl of Chichester, a symbol steeped in history and heraldic tradition.

The Shield: A Quarterly Masterpiece

The central element of the design is the shield, meticulously divided into four quarters, each telling a piece of the Pelham family story. The first and fourth quarters display the modern Pelham arms: three silver pelicans on a blue background. These pelicans, depicted "vulning themselves," are shown piercing their breasts to feed their young, symbolizing self-sacrifice and familial devotion.

The second and third quarters present the ancient Pelham arms: two vertical broken belts, buckles upward, in silver on a red background. These belts are a testament to the family's lineage, representing ties to previous generations.

Crest and Supporters

Above the shield, the crest presents a peacock in pride, its silver plumage representing pride and beauty. This is a common device of nobility.

Flanking the shield are the supporters. On the dexter (right) side stands a mouse-colored horse, collared with a silver belt and gold buckle, signifying strength. The sinister (left) side features a bear proper, also collared with a silver belt and a gold buckle.

The Motto

Beneath the coat of arms, the motto "Vincit amor patriæ" ("The love of my country prevails") adds a final layer of meaning, reinforcing the Pelham family's commitment to public service and their connection to England.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
