XIV-KRAR (Denmark) Coat of Arms Pint Glass - Design Description

This pint glass showcases the regal coat of arms, a powerful symbol of the Danish Realm. The design is meticulously rendered, mirroring the official emblem adopted by royal resolution on December 20, 2024. The artwork centers around the quartered shield, the heart of the design.

The Shield: A Realm of Symbols

The shield's foundation is the silver (white) cross, outlined in red – the iconic Dannebrog cross, a cornerstone of Danish identity. The cross divides the shield into four distinct quarters, each rich with meaning:

  • Top-Left Quarter: A gold field displaying three crowned blue lions, accompanied by nine red hearts. This is the traditional lions-and-hearts motif, a direct representation of the Kingdom of Denmark itself.
  • Top-Right Quarter: A silver ram stands proudly on a blue field, symbolizing the Faroe Islands and highlighting their inclusion within the realm.
  • Bottom-Left Quarter: A polar bear, depicted rampant (standing upright) against a blue backdrop, represents Greenland and emphasizes the unity of the Danish Realm, encompassing all its territories.
  • Bottom-Right Quarter: Two blue lions on a gold field pay homage to Southern Jutland / Schleswig, connecting to its historical ties to Denmark.

At the shield's center, an inescutcheon (small central shield) presents two red bars on a gold field, symbolic of the Oldenburg dynasty, the reigning royal house, underscoring the lineage of the Danish monarchy.

Surrounding Elements: Royal Authority and Chivalry

The shield is elegantly surrounded by the ornate collars/chains of the Order of the Elephant and the Order of the Dannebrog, representing Danish royal orders and emphasizing chivalry and royal authority. Two wildmen (heraldic human supporters), often referred to as savages, flank the shield, holding it within a pavilion lined with ermine (a fur pattern), further embellishing the design. The entire design is crowned with the royal crown of Denmark, signifying the ceremonial and constitutional role of the monarchy.

Note: the design reflects the 2024 changes: removal of the three crowns that were previously present, and a return to the historic "outwardly curved" style of the Dannebrog cross.

Clear 16 oz (≈0.47 L) pint glasses made from solid glass with a heavy base for steady placement. Narrower at the bottom for an easier grip and balanced feel — durable, dishwasher-safe, and ideal for both serving and mixing.

These pints are crafted from 100% clear glass that showcases the drink inside — color, clarity and carbonation are all visible. A heavier, solid base reduces tipping and gives the glass a satisfying weight in the hand while the gently tapered body makes holding and carrying more comfortable.

Built to last, the construction resists chipping under normal use and is suitable for busy service environments as well as retail display. One-sided print work reads bright against the clear surface; the overall aesthetic is clean and modern.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and gloss.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint / ≈0.47 L).
  • Base: heavy solid glass base reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Shape: narrower bottom for a comfortable grip and easier carrying.
  • Durability: dishwasher-safe and built for regular use.

Use these glasses for draft pours, mixed drinks, iced beverages and more. Their clear walls show off color and bubbles, which makes them a great choice for menus, tasting flights, and bars where presentation matters.

  1. Serving: ideal for beers, sodas, iced teas and cocktails served cold.
  2. Mixing: also works as a simple mixing glass for shaken or stirred cocktails in casual settings.
  3. Display: clean silhouette fits behind bars, on shelves, or on retail racks.

Quick tip: because the base is heavier, these glasses feel stable on trays and counters — handy when serving multiple drinks at once.

These glasses are dishwasher-safe; place them on the top rack and use a regular household cycle. For best longevity, avoid stacking them tightly and steer clear of high-heat commercial wash cycles when possible.

Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap when you want to preserve maximum clarity and avoid sudden temperature shocks. Handle by the body, not just the rim, to reduce the chance of accidental chipping.
