Emblem of the State Anti-fascist Council for the National Liberation of Croatia - Accent Coffee Mug

This design reproduces the wartime emblem of ZAVNOH, the State Anti-fascist Council for the National Liberation of Croatia, built from a red star, wheat sheaves and a slogan ribbon.

Visual Elements & Composition

Red and white do all the work. A single five-pointed star sits at the centre, with red wheat sheaves curving around it in wreath-like arcs. A horizontal red ribbon banner crosses the lower part of the composition and carries the words SMRT FAŠIZMU and SLOBODA NARODU. The style is flat and single-colour, with no shading, so the shapes stay crisp and legible at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The slogans translate as "Death to fascism, freedom to the people", the central promise of the resistance. During the Second World War, ZAVNOH served as the primary political body of the Yugoslav Partisans in Croatia and acted as a proto-government for liberated territories, laying the institutional groundwork for Croatia within the post-war Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The red star signals socialism and collective resistance, while the wheat honours the peasantry and the Croatian people who carried the struggle. Unlike the modern coat of arms, which speaks to state sovereignty, this emblem belongs to the aims of the resistance movement itself.

Built for the Turn of the Wrist

A mug is read differently from a poster. You lift it, turn it, and the star, sheaves and banner pass across your view one section at a time, so the emblem unfolds in sequence rather than all at once. Mid-century political graphics were designed to be taken in quickly on the street, and this one keeps that directness on an object that lives on the kitchen counter and in your hand.

Accent ceramic mugs with a glossy white exterior and a colored interior & handle. Offered in 11 oz (≈330 ml) and 15 oz (≈440 ml), these mugs pair strong visual contrast with everyday durability — lead- and BPA-free.

Bright interiors and matching handles add a crisp pop of color to classic white ceramic. The glossy glaze gives prints a smooth backdrop while the colored inside creates an instant focal point on any table or shelf.

Available in multiple accent colors, these mugs keep a familiar C-shaped handle and a comfortable mouth for sipping. They’re designed to be both decorative and practical, holding up to daily routines without fuss.

  • Material: white ceramic body with colored interior and handle; glossy finish.
  • Sizes: 11 oz (≈330 ml) and 15 oz (≈440 ml) to match different serving needs.
  • Design: high-contrast interior brings vivid attention to your chosen colorway.
  • Safety: lead- and BPA-free, suitable for everyday hot beverages.
  • Function: classic C-handle for secure holding and easy lifting.

These accent mugs are ideal for daily coffee, tea, and cocoa. The colored interior makes them easy to identify in shared kitchens and gives a little designer touch to a breakfast nook.

  1. Everyday use: comfortable for morning routines and built to fit in most cupboards and cupholders.
  2. Office-ready: stand out on a desk without being flashy — useful for communal spaces or personal mugs.
  3. Pairing: mix and match interior colors across sets for a coordinated but lively collection.

Tip: darker interior colors hide light staining better over time; lighter colors show contrast with froth and cream.

These mugs are dishwasher- and microwave-safe, but gentle handling prolongs the finish. Use the top rack for dishwashing and avoid harsh scrubbing pads to keep the glossy surface and color bright.

For best long-term results, hand-wash with mild soap and a soft sponge when possible. Avoid soaking in aggressive detergents and don’t microwave empty mugs.

Two sizes available: 11 oz (approx. 330 ml) and 15 oz (approx. 440 ml). The smaller size fits classic morning pours; the larger one gives space for milk, foam, or an extra-long pour.
