Escudo de Simijaca Pint Glass Design

This pint glass showcases the official Coat of Arms of Simijaca, a municipality in Cundinamarca, Colombia. Designed in 2018 by licenciado Guzmán Carrillo, the emblem celebrates the town's history and heritage, adopted officially in 2019.

Visual Overview

The design faithfully replicates the shield's structure, a rectangular shape with a rounded base, characteristic of Spanish heraldry. It's divided into three vertical columns, each representing a facet of Simijaca's identity against a backdrop symbolizing the land: the green signifying fertile lands, the blue the clear sky, and the white the peace and tranquility of the town.

Column Interpretations

The left column delves into the past, featuring four indigenous bohíos, symbolizing the four original tribal groups of Siminxaca: Gacha Quecama, Zeena Batea, Chunga, and Taquira. The arrangement signifies the founding of the municipality on August 14, 1600, with one large bohío in the white band and three smaller ones in the green band.

The central column celebrates the present. A prominent maize cob, representing the agricultural wealth and the promise of development, extends into the blue band of the sky. Adjacent to the maize cob is a silhouette of a bovine, symbolizing the strong tradition of cattle ranching within the municipality.

The right column embodies the Spanish legacy. It prominently displays the entrance of the "La María" ecological and recreational park. Also shown are elements such as colonial architecture, historical haciendas, and the continuous growth of the municipality. A golden wheat stalk with eleven grains representing the eleven municipal "veredas" (subdivisions) finishes out the representation of Simijaca.

Additional Elements

At the bottom of the shield, the design incorporates a stylized owl, an element previously used on the coat of arms of the local educational institution (IE Agustín Parra Simijaca). This adds symbolic significance as a sacred animal among the indigenous Muisca people, and is placed in a circle above the name of the school on the original.

Clear 16 oz (≈0.47 L) pint glasses made from solid glass with a heavy base for steady placement. Narrower at the bottom for an easier grip and balanced feel — durable, dishwasher-safe, and ideal for both serving and mixing.

These pints are crafted from 100% clear glass that showcases the drink inside — color, clarity and carbonation are all visible. A heavier, solid base reduces tipping and gives the glass a satisfying weight in the hand while the gently tapered body makes holding and carrying more comfortable.

Built to last, the construction resists chipping under normal use and is suitable for busy service environments as well as retail display. One-sided print work reads bright against the clear surface; the overall aesthetic is clean and modern.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and gloss.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint / ≈0.47 L).
  • Base: heavy solid glass base reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Shape: narrower bottom for a comfortable grip and easier carrying.
  • Durability: dishwasher-safe and built for regular use.

Use these glasses for draft pours, mixed drinks, iced beverages and more. Their clear walls show off color and bubbles, which makes them a great choice for menus, tasting flights, and bars where presentation matters.

  1. Serving: ideal for beers, sodas, iced teas and cocktails served cold.
  2. Mixing: also works as a simple mixing glass for shaken or stirred cocktails in casual settings.
  3. Display: clean silhouette fits behind bars, on shelves, or on retail racks.

Quick tip: because the base is heavier, these glasses feel stable on trays and counters — handy when serving multiple drinks at once.

These glasses are dishwasher-safe; place them on the top rack and use a regular household cycle. For best longevity, avoid stacking them tightly and steer clear of high-heat commercial wash cycles when possible.

Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap when you want to preserve maximum clarity and avoid sudden temperature shocks. Handle by the body, not just the rim, to reduce the chance of accidental chipping.
