Escut d'Alpicat (Spain) Shot Glass - Design Description

This shot glass showcases the coat of arms of Alpicat, a municipality in Catalonia, Spain, a design officially adopted in 1983. The artwork is centered around a distinctive "caironat" (kite-shaped) shield, a common form in heraldry.

The Shield Design

The field of the shield is rendered in gold (or), symbolizing generosity and the elevation of the mind. At the heart of the design stands a prominent green pine tree (sinople), depicted "arrencat," meaning its roots are visible. This pine tree is a "speaking charge," a visual pun referencing the town's name ("pi" is Catalan for "pine").

Flanking the pine tree are the attributes of Saint Bartholomew, the patron saint of Alpicat. To the viewer's left (dexter side of the shield) is a knife, its blade in blue (azure) and handle in black (sable). To the viewer's right (sinister side) is a green palm branch (sinople). Both the knife and palm branch are placed vertically alongside the tree.

Crowning Touch

Above the shield, the design is completed by a mural crown, a crown with battlements that is a standard indication of municipal arms in Catalonia. This crown signifies the status of Alpicat as a town.

This shot glass design celebrates the history, identity, and patron saint of Alpicat through its vibrant and symbolic use of color and imagery.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / โ‰ˆ44.3 ml) โ€” sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

Theyโ€™re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (โ‰ˆ44.3 ml) โ€” standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours โ€” less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning โ€” place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (โ‰ˆ44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
