Flag map of the Turkmen SSR 1953-1991 Flag map of Turkmenistan 19911992 (Turkmenistan) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design pairs two flags of Turkmenistan, the Soviet-era flag of the Turkmen SSR used from 1953 to 1991 and the transitional flag of 1991 to 1992, each set against a country map silhouette.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is flat and graphic, built around a map-shaped silhouette with an irregular outline. The Soviet-era version is dominated by red, which takes up roughly three-fifths of the field, with sky blue and small touches of gold yellow. A gold hammer and sickle and a gold five-pointed star anchor the upper red area, while a horizontal stripe carries the repeated carpet-gul motifs. Its horizontal striping gives the whole piece a crisp, mid-century rhythm.

Meaning & Symbolism

The red field and hammer and sickle reflect the communist ideology of the Soviet republic, while the carpet-gul motifs stand for Turkmen cultural identity. The 1991 to 1992 transitional flag dropped those Soviet charges and moved to a green field, a traditional national colour for the Turkmen people, while keeping the five carpet motifs as a link to heritage. Turkmenistan declared independence on October 27, 1991, and the two designs together chart the shift from Soviet republic to sovereign state, with the country's own cultural symbols reclaimed in place of ideological ones.

Small Glass, Close Reading

A shot glass is small and held close, so the map and both flags come into view at the moment of a toast, one design read against the other at arm's length. Nothing about this artwork needs distance to make sense. Each flag sits in a compact field that suits a glass you lift and turn in your hand, making this a quietly cheeky conversation piece for anyone who enjoys a bit of history with their drink.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
