Flag of Chitose Oita (Japan) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A yellow disc on a white field, with a green character stylised inside it, is the whole of this flag from Ōita Prefecture.

Visual Elements & Composition

White dominates, covering roughly two thirds of the surface. The yellow circle sits centred on that ground, and inside it a green figure takes up most of the remaining colour. The shapes are simple and circular, with curved strokes that give the central mark its rounded character. The palette is limited to white, green and yellow, which keeps the image bright and easy to read at a glance. There are no outlines or extra ornament around the circle.

Meaning & Symbolism

The green figure is a stylised form of the kanji 千, meaning thousand, drawn in a circular, spreading shape. That shape is meant to express good fortune and a hope for future prosperity. The flag belonged to the former village of Chitose in the Ōno District of Ōita Prefecture. It was adopted on 1 August 1968 and was used until 31 March 2005, when Chitose merged with neighbouring municipalities to form the city of Bungo-Ōno. The design is therefore a record of a village that no longer exists under its own name.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the flag is seen at arm's length as it is lifted. The round yellow disc and the central green mark read clearly at that size, and the clean white field lets each colour stand apart. The glass suits a design this compact, one emblem on one plain ground.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
