Flag of City of Groningen the capital of the province of Groningen Netherlands - Shot Glass 1.5oz

The flag of Groningen is a plain horizontal triband of white and green, one of the most restrained civic flags in the Netherlands.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is three equal horizontal stripes in white, green and white. White covers two-thirds of the field and green sits in the centre band, which gives the flag its calm, balanced look. There are no figures, emblems or lettering, so the composition depends entirely on the proportion of the stripes and the strength of the emerald green.

Meaning & Symbolism

The colours come from the coat of arms of the historical prefects of Groningen, who acted as representatives of the Bishop of Utrecht. The triband has been used since the 17th century and was formally defined by Mayor Modderman in 1897. The city has never adopted it by council decree, but it remains the de facto symbol of Groningen, the capital of the province, carried through centuries of regional identity.

The Stripes on a Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the three bands are seen right in front of the eye as the glass is lifted. The horizontal stripes run around the round body, so the green centre band reads as one continuous line from every side of the glass.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
