This is the official flag of Leiden, a South Holland city, rendered as a bold red-and-white heraldic emblem with a single circular badge at its centre.

Visual Elements & Composition

Three horizontal bands run red, white, red. Red dominates, covering roughly two-thirds of the design, and white fills the central stripe. The palette goes no further than those two colours. At the centre of the white band sits a red roundel, and inside it two red keys cross in an X. The flat vector treatment keeps every edge sharp, so the emblem stays clean and legible.

Meaning & Symbolism

The crossed keys belong to Saint Peter, the patron saint of Leiden, and stand for the "keys to heaven." They are taken from the city's coat of arms, which explains why the badge sits so comfortably on a flag.
