Rising from them is a yellow demi-sun, placed low and centred so it seems to lift out of the waves. Meaning & Symbolism

The blue and white waves stand for the sea that surrounds Gozo. The rising sun refers to Nadur's position on a high ridge, known as the "hill of the rising sun."
