This mug carries the official flag of Ngaraard State in Palau, a flat, confident design built from three colours and a single star.

Visual Elements & Composition

Deep sky blue fills most of the field, taking up roughly seven parts in ten of the design. A red stripe cuts diagonally across it, running from the lower left up to the upper right, and a golden-yellow five-pointed star sits on the blue. The style is flat and vector-clean, with no shading or texture, so each shape reads sharply and the star stands out clearly against the blue. There is no lettering or numerals.

Meaning & Symbolism

The blue stands for the sky and the ocean that surround the state. The golden star is a symbol of unity, and its five points represent the five hamlets of Choll, Elab, Ngebuked, Ulimang and Ngkeklau. The red stripe runs from one side of the flag to the other, signifying the state's presence on both the east and west coasts of northern Babeldaob, and it carries associations of courage, integrity and striving for success. The current version was adopted in the summer of 2004, and the flag is a national symbol of the state in vexillology terms.
