Flag of Ogatsu Miyagi 1964-2005 no text (Japan) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces the municipal flag of Ogatsu, a town in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, built around a single stylised emblem rather than any lettering.

Visual Elements & Composition

Flat vector shapes do all the work here. Dodger blue covers most of the field, with dark blue providing a deep counterpoint and a small amount of white picking out the emblem. The composition is minimal and geometric: a circle, a star and a crest-like form sit centred and sharply defined, with nothing competing for attention. There is no text in the design, so the mon carries the entire message.

Meaning & Symbolism

The emblem, or mon, is a stylised rendering of the town's name, 雄勝, and it stood as the unique identifier of the community. The flag was adopted in 1964 and flew until 1 April 2005, when Ogatsu merged into the city of Ishinomaki. Ogatsu was long known for its high-quality black hard slate, called Ogatsu stone, which was used for roofing and for traditional inkstones, or suzuri. The flag therefore holds the town's identity, history and craft in one compact mark.

Made to Be Held Close

A shot glass invites you to look straight down into it, so the emblem sits at eye level as the drink is raised. The bold blue field and central mark read clearly at that scale, turning a small glass into a conversation piece for anyone who appreciates clean vexillology and a bit of Japanese regional history. It makes a thoughtful souvenir or a cheeky addition to a home bar.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
