Flag of the Principality of Samos 1834-1912 (Greece) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A white cross divides this flag into four quadrants, red above and blue below, the banner of the Aegean principality of Samos.

Visual Elements & Composition

The field is split into four equal quarters by a plain white cross. The upper quarters are red and the lower quarters are blue, so the colours sit in balanced pairs. The layout is strict and geometric, with no lettering or numerals, and the cross is the single device that holds the composition together.

Meaning & Symbolism

The flag belonged to the autonomous Principality of Samos, an Aegean island state that paid tribute to the Ottoman Empire and was governed by a Christian Greek prince nominated by the Sublime Porte. It was adopted in 1834 and combined the plain cross of the Greek national flag with the red of the Ottoman banner, reflecting the island's dual identity. It flew until 24 November 1912, when Samos was incorporated into Greece.

In the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the four quarters and the white cross are taken in with one look as the glass is lifted. The red and blue stand clear of each other, and the cross reads cleanly across the curve of the glass. It is a compact piece of Aegean history for a home bar or a display of Greek island flags.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
