Flag of the Republic of Sonora (Mexico) Shot Glass 1.5oz

Red bands frame a white centre, and two red stars sit on it, a stark tricolour that marks a short-lived filibuster republic of 1854.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is built from three horizontal bands, red at the top and bottom with a white band between them. The palette is limited to red and white, so the flag reads at once. Two red stars sit on the white band, side by side, and they are the only detail in the composition. The flat vector style keeps the shapes crisp, and the layout is plain and direct.

Meaning & Symbolism

The flag belongs to the Republic of Sonora, created in 1854 by the American filibuster William Walker, who aimed to carve an independent state out of northwestern Mexico. The two stars stand for Sonora and Baja California, the two territories the venture claimed. The republic was renamed by decree on 21 January 1854, but it was never recognised and collapsed quickly. The flag is a record of 19th-century expansionism and of the troubled relations between the United States and Mexico at the time.

Holding a Piece of Filibuster History

A shot glass is small and held close, so the two stars are seen at close range as the glass is lifted. The red and white bands are simple enough to read clearly through the clear glass, and the stars catch the light at the centre of the glass. A pour turns this brief, failed venture into something you can hold up and look at.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
