Flag of the Rhodesian Army late 1970s Shot Glass 1.5oz

A horizontal tricolour in orange-red, blue and yellow, defaced at its centre with the badge of the Rhodesian Army as it was used through the late 1970s.

Visual Elements & Composition

Three horizontal bands run the full width of the flag, with blue and orange carrying most of the area and red and yellow as the accents. At the centre sits a shield bearing a lion rampant holding an assegai, with a pick axe on a green shield beside it and a yellow ribbon banner below. The words RHODESIAN ARMY appear as visible text. The rendering is flat vector, and the badge is the clear focal point against the stripes.

Meaning & Symbolism

The documented symbolism gives the red band to the army itself, while the yellow and blue recall the British South Africa Police, which served in a paramilitary role during the bush war of 1972 to 1979. The assegai, a spear used across Southern Africa, took the place of the crossed swords common in British military heraldry, so the badge speaks to the region as well as to the army. The flag belongs to the final years of Rhodesia and is studied within Southern African military vexillology.

Made for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the lion and the badge are read at close range, the bands of colour showing through the clear glass as it is raised. The centre badge becomes the detail that catches the eye when the glass is turned in the hand.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
