Flag of the Ryukyu Kingdom (Japan) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces a banner of the Ryukyu Kingdom, built around a circular three-comma whirl on a bright white field.

Visual Elements & Composition

White dominates the design, with the emblem set at its centre. Three interlocking comma-shaped swirls form a single circle, each arm curving around the next in a rotational pattern. Red, yellow and blue pick out the emblem, giving the flat vector artwork a bright, balanced look. The circle is the only shape on the field, so the eye settles on it straight away.

Meaning & Symbolism

The emblem is the Hidari Gomon, the three-comma whirl known as mitsudomoe, which the Ryukyu Kingdom tied to its ruling Sho dynasty and to Hachiman worship. The kingdom governed the Ryukyu Islands, centred on Okinawa, from 1429 until 1879. It was a maritime trading realm linking China, Japan and Southeast Asia, and its identity rested on that trade and on its dynasty. The design reflects the dignified heraldry of that period and the islands' own history.

Shaped for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the circular emblem reads as a single, centred mark at the level of the hand. The three swirls sit well in a round glass, and the emblem stays whole as the glass is lifted. It brings a piece of Okinawan maritime history to a small, sociable moment at the bar.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
