Flag of the Solomon Islands 1906-1947 (Solomon Islands) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design recreates the flag of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate, used from 1906 to 1947, when the territory was administered under British rule.

Visual Elements & Composition

The field is a deep navy blue, the British Blue Ensign, with the Union Jack filling the upper hoist corner. In the fly sits a white roundel bearing a full-colour royal crown, circled by black lettering that reads BRITISH SOLOMON ISLANDS. Navy blue dominates the design, with the white roundel and crimson and gold accents drawing the eye to the centre of the fly.

Meaning & Symbolism

The flag reflects the colonial character of its era. The Union Jack and the crown signal British administration, and the badge contains no local or regional symbolism. The design was introduced in 1906 and kept for roughly four decades, until a new badge featuring a sea turtle replaced it in 1947. It stands as a record of early twentieth-century British colonial flag design in the Pacific, long before the islands gained independence in 1978.

Held Close in the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the crown and lettering of the roundel are read up near the eye, the way a collector studies a piece of ephemera. The tight, straight-sided form suits the flag's crisp navy field and its compact central badge.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
