Flag of the Solomon Islands 1947-1956 (Solomon Islands) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the flag of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate as it flew from 1947 to 1956, with a sea turtle badge replacing the earlier crown emblem.

Visual Elements & Composition

The field is a deep navy blue Blue Ensign, with the Union Jack in the upper hoist corner. In the fly, a white roundel holds a red shield with an upright sea turtle at its centre. A black chief along the top of the shield carries a row of white triangles, and the protectorate name is lettered in black beneath the badge. The navy field and the white roundel make the red shield the strongest point of the design.

Meaning & Symbolism

The turtle gave the colony an emblem drawn from its own surroundings, where the earlier design had relied on a crown and inscription alone. The sea creature stands for the marine life of the islands, a regional identity set within British colonial administration. The flag belongs to the mid-twentieth century, before the diagonal-stripe national flag adopted at independence in 1977.

Seen Up Close

A shot glass is small and held close, so the turtle and its white-triangled chief are read at arm's length, one detail at a time. The straight-sided form keeps the shield centred in the view, and the red and white stand out sharply against the navy.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
