Flag of the Solomon Islands 1956-1966 (Solomon Islands) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design depicts the flag of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate as it flew from 1956 to 1966, with a quartered badge that gave each district of the islands its own emblem.

Visual Elements & Composition

Royal blue fills most of the field, a Blue Ensign with the Union Jack in the upper hoist corner. In the fly sits a white disk holding a quartered coat of arms, with red, white and small touches of gold and black in the badge. The quarters carry separate devices, among them an eagle, a turtle, a shield with spears and bow, and two white seabirds, so the badge reads as a map of the islands in miniature.

Meaning & Symbolism

The quartered arms represent the four districts of the protectorate, each with its own symbol drawn from the islands' people and surroundings. The badge was introduced on 24 September 1956, and its white disk was removed in 1966. The flag stands in the history of British colonial heraldry in the Pacific, a Commonwealth emblem that the islands kept until the national flag of 1977 replaced it.

In the Hand, at Close Range

A shot glass is small and held close, so the quartered badge is studied the way a collector studies a small crest, one quarter at a time. The straight sides keep the blue field and the central disk in a tight, formal view, and the crisp red and white stand out against the navy.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
