Flag of the Solomon Islands 1966-1977 (Solomon Islands) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the flag of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate as it flew from 1966 to 1977, the last colonial flag before the islands' own national flag.

Visual Elements & Composition

A deep royal blue field takes up most of the design, in the form of a British Blue Ensign. The Union Jack fills the upper hoist corner, and the protectorate shield sits in the fly. The shield is set against the blue with red, white and small touches of black and gold, and it is the only central element, so the composition reads as formal and heraldic.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Union Jack and the protectorate shield signal the British administration that governed the islands at the time. The flag belongs to the closing years of that rule. It was replaced by the national flag in 1977, eight months before independence in 1978, and so it marks the last stage of the islands' colonial heraldry.

Within Reach of the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield and its colours are taken in at a glance, the way a small crest is read on a keepsake. The straight-sided form keeps the blue field tight and the shield centred, which suits a design built on one strong central emblem.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
