IRL N1 (Ireland) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

This design takes a single road designation, IRL N1, and makes it the whole picture: a clean, focused marker of Ireland's national road network.

Visual Elements & Composition

The composition is built around the designation itself. The letters and numerals of IRL N1 sit at the centre of the artwork with nothing competing for attention, so the eye goes straight to the code. The layout is plain and direct, closer to a sign than a scene, and every element earns its place by being legible.

Meaning & Symbolism

"IRL" is the international code for Ireland, and N1 is the designation of a national primary route in the Irish road system, running from Dublin north towards the Border. Road numbers like this are how travellers and map-makers navigate a country, so the design turns a piece of everyday infrastructure into a statement of place. It speaks to anyone who has driven that stretch, or who wants a small piece of Irish road culture on their desk.

Turning It in Your Hands

A mug is held and turned, so the design is seen in pieces: the designation appears as the cup rotates, and the reveal happens as a hot drink is poured in. Each sip brings the route number up close, which suits a sign built around a single, direct message.
