A pentagonal route shield with an inner border, drawn in flat black on white, reproduces the look of a Minas Gerais state highway marker.
Visual Elements & Composition
The pentagon fills the centre of the composition, its outline doubled by a thinner inner border that gives the shape a sense of depth without any shading. Within it, the letters MG and the numerals 466 are stacked in bold black. White covers the larger share of the surface, so the mark reads as a clean, graphic silhouette in a flat vector style.
Meaning & Symbolism
MG is the standard abbreviation for Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's states, and 466 is the number of this route. Shields of this kind are designed so that a driver can identify a road from a distance, and the design keeps that directness. It stands for the network of state roads that links towns and farmland across the region.
Reading the Shield on the Mug
A mug is turned in the hand, so the shield slides across the eye as the cup rotates, and the inner border keeps the outline crisp even when seen at an angle. The contrast between black and white keeps the MG and 466 legible from across a desk as well as up close.
