MN-165 1948 (Minnesota) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A black-and-white route marker in the mid-century shield style, showing the number 165 under the word MINNESOTA.

Visual Elements & Composition

Black and white divide the design evenly, with no other colour. The marker is built from a square panel, a rounded-square shield and a rectangular band, stacked so the state name sits at the top and the route number takes the centre. The numerals are bold and flat, and the lettering is set with plain, even spacing. Nothing is added beyond the shapes and text, which keeps the marker clean and strongly graphic.

Meaning & Symbolism

State Highway 165 was authorised in 1934 and ran between Faribault and Lakeville as an alternate to U.S. 65. The road was not fully paved until about 1950, and it was decommissioned in 1957 when U.S. 65 was moved onto the same alignment. The marker is a reminder of the period when Minnesota's trunk highways were being numbered and signed in earnest. The 1948 in the title refers to the design standard of the shield itself, placing it in that postwar era.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the marker is read from above, the way a sign is taken in at a crossroads. The black lettering and the white field read as high contrast, and the number 165 is the first thing the eye finds. The clear glass lets the white panels show through the drink in your hand.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
