MN-44 1920 (Minnesota) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces an early Minnesota route marker for State Highway 44, the first-generation sign from the state's 1920 numbered highway system.

Visual Elements & Composition

The sign is stripped back to its essentials. A rounded square carries the numeral 44 in bold black, centred with nothing around it. The design has no state outline and no lettering beyond the route number, so the figures carry the whole message. Its graphic simplicity is the defining feature.

Meaning & Symbolism

The marker belonged to Minnesota's first numbered trunk highway network, introduced in 1920 to guide early motorists along a set route. Route 44 ran east to west through the southeast of the state, linking the Iowa border with communities such as Mabel, Harmony and Winona. Before the state-outline shields of 1948, a bare number was the whole authority a driver needed on the road.

Reading the Route on the Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the bold numeral reads directly as the glass is raised. The plain layout suits a small object: one number, one clear message, and a bit of Minnesota road history for whoever picks it up.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
