Nassau County 15 NY (New York) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

Route 15 of Nassau County is rendered here as its original pentagon road sign, a numbered county marker from a highway system that has since gone unsigned.

Visual Elements & Composition

The five-sided shield is built on a blue field with a yellow border and yellow lettering, a high-contrast pairing that makes the sign legible at a distance. COUNTY stands across the top, and the large numeral 15 sits centred beneath it. Nothing else competes: the flat vector layout is pared back so the shape and the number carry the image.

Meaning & Symbolism

The pentagon signalled a county route, distinct from the state and federal highways it joined on the road. Route 15 was one of the numbered roads in a signed county network that ran through the late 1970s. That year Nassau County took its route shields down following a funding and signage dispute with the New York State Department of Transportation. The designation survives in county records today, but the marker has not stood on a road for decades, so the artwork is a record of something that has vanished.

Scale on the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield is seen at eye level in the hand, much as a driver once glanced at a marker at a junction. The compact clear surface lets the blue and yellow stand out, and the single numeral gives the design room to breathe.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
