Nassau County 17 NY (New York) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A classic five-sided county marker carrying the number 17 recreates a route from the signed highway system of Nassau County, New York.

Visual Elements & Composition

The pentagon shield takes up nearly the whole design and is the single strongest shape in the piece. Blue fills the field, a yellow border traces the outline, and the yellow lettering is set in a simple two-tier stack: COUNTY across the top, then the number 17 large and centred. The palette is limited to those two colours, so the shape and the numeral do all the work.

Meaning & Symbolism

The county shield was a signal of local jurisdiction. It set a county-maintained road apart from state and federal highways and gave drivers a route identity they could follow. Route 17 belonged to that signed network, which included numbered and suffixed routes, until Nassau County removed its markers in the late 1970s. The designation remains in county records, but no physical sign has been posted for it since, which makes this a recreation of a marker that is now gone from the roadside.

Small and Close

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield is seen up close, the way a driver would have glimpsed it at a junction. The clear glass sets off the blue and yellow, and the single number keeps the front of the glass uncluttered.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
