New Mexico 17 1932 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A vintage-style New Mexico State Road 17 marker with the number 17 set inside a red Zia sun on golden yellow.

Visual Elements & Composition

Golden yellow covers most of the sign, with red for the Zia sun and black for the rim and lettering. The route number 17 sits in the sun's small central circle, with the words STATE, ROAD, N. and M. set around the badge. The layout is flat and symmetrical, with the sun as the clear focal point and the colour pairing doing most of the work.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun comes from the Zia Pueblo, where it is a sacred emblem of the sun and its values. Its rays are grouped in fours, and the same symbol is the central charge of the New Mexico state flag. The style of this marker reflects early 1930s highway signage, when the state was building out a numbered route system and placing its Indigenous heritage at the centre of its road identity. Route 17 was renamed in the 1950s to align with Colorado's state highway system at the border.

Close to the Rim

A shot glass is small and held close, so the number 17 and the red sun are read at close range as the glass is lifted. The sign's compact, high-contrast layout suits an object this size, and the design carries a chapter of the Southwest's road history onto the bar shelf.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
