New Mexico 171 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A small New Mexico route shield, with the number 171 set inside a red Zia sun badge on a white field.

Visual Elements & Composition

White makes up most of the design, with black numerals and red sun-ray marks giving it strong contrast. A red circular badge sits at the centre, its edge broken into four groups of rays. The number 171 is printed large in black across the middle of the badge, so it is the first thing the eye lands on. The layout is flat and simple, with nothing else competing for attention.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun symbol comes from the Zia Pueblo and is one of the most recognisable emblems in New Mexico. Its four groups of rays stand for the four directions, the four seasons and the four stages of life. The road itself was State Road 171, a short route of about 1.6 miles in Elephant Butte, known locally as Warm Springs Boulevard. It was set up in 1988 during a highway renumbering and handed over to the city of Elephant Butte in October 2014, so the sign now marks a piece of local road history.

Made for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the central badge and its bold numerals sit at eye level as the glass is raised. The white field and red ring show clearly against the clear glass, making the number easy to read in a bar setting.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
