New Mexico 173 1932 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A golden state-road marker for New Mexico Route 173, with the number set in a Zia sun badge and the words STATE ROAD across the top.

Visual Elements & Composition

Golden yellow dominates the design, with red and black used for the rings and lettering. A circular badge sits at the centre, holding the Zia sun symbol. The number 173 is printed across the middle, with STATE, ROAD, N. and M. set around it in bold capitals. The layout is flat and symmetrical, which gives it the formal look of an early highway sign.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun symbol comes from the Zia Pueblo, where its four groups of rays stand for the four directions, the four seasons and the four stages of life. New Mexico placed it on its route markers in the 1920s and 1930s, and this design recalls that period. The route itself is State Road 173, about 18 miles from Aztec at US 550 to the area near Navajo Dam. The Zia is also a subject of debate: some members of the Zia Pueblo object to its use on commercial goods, and the emblem carries that weight wherever it appears.

Made for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the central badge and its numerals sit at eye level as the glass is lifted. The golden yellow glows through the clear glass, and the layout reads clearly from a short distance across the table.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
