New Mexico 18 1926 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A 1926-style State Road 18 marker, with a red Zia sun and the route number 18 on a golden yellow field.

Visual Elements & Composition

Golden yellow dominates the sign, with red for the Zia sun and black for the outer ring and lettering. The words STATE and ROAD and the number 18 are arranged within a circular badge, and the sun's smaller central circle is the focal point. The layout is flat and centred, and the red-and-black-on-yellow scheme is the element that carries the marker's early character.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun comes from the Zia Pueblo and is also the emblem on the New Mexico state flag. Its rays are grouped in fours, a count that runs through Zia culture for the directions, the seasons and the stages of life. New Mexico began erecting uniform numbered road signs around December 1926, and this marker belongs to that opening period, when the state's roads first received a visual identity built on its Indigenous heritage.

Carried in the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the central sun and the number 18 come into view as the glass is lifted. The sign's bold yellow and red read well on a compact object, and the design brings an early piece of New Mexico road history to the bar.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
