New Mexico 184 1932 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A golden road marker with a red sun at its centre, this design borrows the look of early New Mexico state highway signs and carries it onto a small piece of glassware.

Visual Elements & Composition

Golden yellow fills most of the composition, set inside a circular badge in flat vector style. Red and black carry the lettering: STATE ROAD runs across the top, N. M. sits beneath, and the route number 184 is set large in the middle. The Zia sun symbol occupies the centre of the badge with clean, graphic rays, so the eye moves from the number to the emblem without any clutter.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun is one of New Mexico's most recognised emblems. Its design carries the sacred number four, standing for the four directions, the four seasons, the four periods of the day and the four stages of life. On early state road signs of the 1920s and 1930s it marked the state's identity along the open highway. The pairing of route and year is deliberate rather than documented: NM 184 was not designated until 1988, so the 1932 date belongs to the vintage styling. That blend of old graphic language and a later route number is what gives the piece its character.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small enough to lift in one hand, which brings the sun badge close to the eye at the moment it is raised. The bold golden field reads clearly at arm's length across a bar top or a kitchen counter, and each round becomes a short look at a piece of the state's road-sign history.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
